TRIVIAS ON ASTRONOMY

• the branch of science which deals with celestial
  objects, space, and the physical universe as a
  whole. Astronomy It uses mathematics, physics, and chemistry in order to explain their origin and evolution. Objects of interest include planets, moons, stars, nebulae, and galaxies.

1. THE HOTTEST PLANET IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM HAS A TEMPERATURE OF 450°c.

• Earth’s highest temperature is 45°c but the hottest
  planet in our solar system (Venus) is 10 time hotter than ours.

1. ONE DAY ON VENUS IS LONGER THAN ITS ONE YEAR.

• Venus has a slow axis rotation which takes 243 Earth
  day to complete. In fact, it is 18 days behind its full orbit around the sun which takes up to 225 Earth days.

1. A VOLCANO THAT EXIST ON PLANET MARS IS 3
   TIMES THE SIZE OF EARTH’S TALLEST MOUNTAIN (EVEREST)
   

• Olympus Mons is a volcano on Mars that is 600km wide and 21km tall.

1. 4. THE RAINS ON JUPITER AND SATURN ARE MADE UP OF DIAMONDS

• Lightning storms turn methane into soot (carbon)
  which as it falls hardens into chunks of graphite and
  then diamond. Roughly about 1,000 tonnes of diamond
  per year.
